Khi ấy, những người Do-thái kêu trách Chúa Giêsu, vì Người đã phán rằng: "Ta là bánh hằng sống bởi trời mà xuống". Họ nói: "Chớ thì ông này chẳng phải là Giêsu, con ông Giuse sao? Chúng ta đều biết rõ cha mẹ của ông. Vậy làm sao ông lại nói: 'Ta bởi trời mà xuống'". 

 

The Jews murmured about Jesus because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven, ” and they said, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph? Do we not know his father and mother? Then how can he say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?” 

 

Da murrten die Juden gegen ihn, weil er gesagt hatte: Ich bin das Brot, das vom Himmel herabgekommen ist. Und sie sagten: Ist das nicht Jesus, der Sohn Josefs, dessen Vater und Mutter wir kennen? Wie kann er jetzt sagen: Ich bin vom Himmel herabgekommen?

Chúa Giêsu trả lời cùng họ rằng: "Các ngươi chớ thì thầm với nhau. Không ai đến được với Ta nếu Cha, là Đấng sai Ta, không lôi kéo kẻ ấy, và Ta, Ta sẽ cho họ sống lại trong ngày sau hết. Trong sách các tiên tri có chép rằng: 'Mọi người sẽ được Thiên Chúa dạy bảo'. Ai nghe lời giáo hoá của Cha, thì đến với Ta. Không một ai đã xem thấy Cha, trừ Đấng bởi Thiên Chúa mà ra, Đấng ấy đã thấy Cha. Thật, Ta bảo thật các ngươi: Ai tin vào Ta thì có sự sống đời đời. 

 

Jesus answered and said to them, “Stop murmuring among yourselves. No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draw him, and I will raise him on the last day. It is written in the prophets: They shall all be taught by God. Everyone who listens to my Father and learns from him comes to me. Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God; he has seen the Father. Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life. 

 

Jesus sagte zu ihnen: Murrt nicht! Niemand kann zu mir kommen, wenn nicht der Vater, der mich gesandt hat, ihn zu mir führt; und ich werde ihn auferwecken am Letzten Tag. Bei den Propheten heißt es: Und alle werden Schüler Gottes sein. Jeder, der auf den Vater hört und seine Lehre annimmt, wird zu mir kommen. Niemand hat den Vater gesehen außer dem, der von Gott ist; nur er hat den Vater gesehen. Amen, amen, ich sage euch: Wer glaubt, hat das ewige Leben.

"Ta là bánh ban sự sống. Cha ông các ngươi đã ăn manna trong sa mạc và đã chết. Đây là bánh bởi trời xuống, để ai ăn bánh này thì khỏi chết. Ta là bánh hằng sống từ trời xuống. Ai ăn bánh này, sẽ sống đời đời. Và bánh Ta sẽ ban, chính là thịt Ta, để cho thế gian được sống". 

 

I am the bread of life. Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died; this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world.” 

 

Ich bin das Brot des Lebens. Eure Väter haben in der Wüste das Manna gegessen und sind gestorben. So aber ist es mit dem Brot, das vom Himmel herabkommt: Wenn jemand davon isst, wird er nicht sterben. Ich bin das lebendige Brot, das vom Himmel herabgekommen ist. Wer von diesem Brot isst, wird in Ewigkeit leben. Das Brot, das ich geben werde, ist mein Fleisch, (ich gebe es hin) für das Leben der Welt.
